Role of Higher Education in Sustainable Development in India: A Study of RUSA

Abstract

In today not only development of a nation enough but also this development should satisfy the three aspects—it should be economic, social and environmentally justified. In this paper, the role of higher education in economic, social and environment development has been shown. The role of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in higher education development for sustainable development in India has been find out. This paper also deals with achievements and challenges for RUSA in India. In end, there are some suggestions have been given for making higher education eligible for sustainable development.
