Enhancing Palm Print Recognition System

Shashi Bala, Priyanka Kamboj

Abstract

Palmprint is the most popular and reliable feature of biometric system. From the palmprint different features can be extracted for recognition. In this paper the method of personal identification is based on broken lines and repeated lines of palm. The image of a palm captured from database contains not only the principal lines but also irregular lines like repeated lines and broken lines. The proposed method extracts the pattern lines of palm from the unclear image by using line tracking that start from various positions. The technique uses CLAHE for contrast enhancement and repeated line tracking method. The results of proposed method are effective and matching score is 100%.
