Printed Circularly Polarized P-Shaped Patch Antenna for Wireless Communication Application

Saurabh Singh, Sudhanshu Verma

Abstract

In this paper, a study of wide band partially grounded printed polarized P-shaped microstrip patch antenna design fed by microstrip feed line. This design is considered for the improvement of axial ratio bandwidth. For defecting the ground plane, a rectangular shaped plane has been etched from the upper half of the ground plane to improve the axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) and impedance bandwidth (IBW). For the improvement of the ARBW, a P-shaped patch has designed. In this layout, the obtained IBW 4.13 GHz (4.73–8.86 GHz, 60.78%) at center frequency (fc) 5.29 GHz. The corresponding ARBW are 4.41 GHz (4.43–8.84 GHz, 66.46%). The maximum gain is 3.08 dB at 7.51 GHz within the CP band. Proposed antenna is suitable for C and X band wireless communication application.
