Implementation of Electronic Lock in Trailing of the Cargo Containers Pilfering

Ashutosh Kumar, Devanshu Suman, Sreerangappa M

Abstract

Contemporaneous machineries of locking and monitoring the cargo don’t proves to be responsible for nominal solution for the situation of the cargo containers pilfering. A little bribery among the employees can easily betray whole security system. Mean while the cargo contains provisions of high value as well as in high quantity, these containers are more susceptible to the pilfering and hence to look after the material we indeed are in need of a sound technique which minimizes the loss due to engrossment of the corrupt employees. The mechanical work assumed here aims at providing an all-encompassing mechanism to prevent pilfering in the cargo containers by entailing an electronic lock and having series of basic security checks like swapping the RFID card provided to the customer, biometric sensor and protection by entering the password which is sent at the time of delivery to the customer. For that reason, it minimizes the human intrusion security of the cargo containers. This paper puts forward a cost effective technique of trailing cargo mobility using GPS. The system gives current vehicle location when ever desirable with consistent accurateness. The system uses GSM and GPS technology, helping in efficient monitoring of the preferred vehicles. The paper also discusses the recommended GPS based vehicle tracking system using GSM technology in which the coordinates are advanced to central monitoring system. The position of the vehicle can be traced on Google/local maps. The paper gives functional, technical description and software implementation for the GPS and GSM based vehicle tracking system.
