Energy Efficient Clustering Techniques for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks:A Survey

Abstract


Clustering techniques enhance stability, efficiency and lifetime of wireless sensor networks. But clustering techniques developed for homogeneous wireless sensor networks are unable to take advantage of heterogeneity provided by heterogeneous wireless sensor networks. In this paper, clustering techniques proposed by various researchers for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks to prolong the stability, efficiency and lifetime of the network are surveyed based on heterogeneity parameters like link quality, computational power and energy.
