A Review on Flying Ad-hoc Network Using Various Protocols

Abstract


One of the major designing issues for multi-Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) systems is the communication that is essential for cooperation and collaboration among the UAVs. If all UAVs are straight allied to a framework, namely a ground base or a satellite, the communication among UAVs can be realized by the framework. However, this framework relayed communication architecture restricts the abilities of the multi-UAV systems. Ad-hoc networking among UAVs can resolve the issues arising from a fully framework relayed UAV networks. In this paper, Flying Ad-Hoc Networks (FANETs) are studied which is an ad hoc network linking the UAVs. The differences among FANETs, Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs), and Vehicle Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) are explained, and then the main designing issues of FANET are introduced.
