Abstract

The work is all about the network components, its layers and protocols, their functions and understanding of the IP addressing scheme. The device, which acts as a mediator for the passage of the packets in a network, is the routers. Here the main aim is to join a large network for the organization communication with the help of these network components by configuring in such way that connectivity is achieved between the different networks. The devices have the communication done in machine coding of binary values. Hence, there is a concept of MAC address. It is the identification factor of the hardware component in the system for establishing a network. The definition is required to identify it that is done by internet protocol address. In this, configuration of a router has been done to achieve the connectivity. Routing can be done using the static routing or the dynamic routing. Several protocols are also configured with the required commands to understand their features. These are configured with the required equipment’s and the network protocols. In addition, the systems are made as servers, for the data transfer and packets are observed in the network using the packet analyzer tool.
