Abstract

While widely used, the term hacker is not always applied as it should be. In the hacking community in particular, there can be stark divisions between hackers - people immensely skilled at navigating computer systems and diagnosing security flaws - and crackers - those who use their hacking knowledge for malicious gain. This same dichotomy is sometimes represented by the terms white hat and black hat. A white hat hacker, for example, may be someone hired by a company to break into its computer network in order to find vulnerabilities. A black hat hacker is someone on the outside who would break into a system in order to cause damage or for financial gain. The following research paper highlights a group named ‘Masters of Deception’ who hacked into many agencies and other highly reputed commissions. The research paper shows their journey and their work. It highlights how they managed to break into the systems of highly reputed agencies and marked flaws in their security systems. One of the main contents of the paper is the conflict of the ‘Masters of Deception’ with ‘Legion of Doom’. The paper also highlights the fact which brought their downfall and the reason behind their arrest. The main objective of the paper is to highlight the way in which the group managed to execute their hacking plan successfully. The work has been analyzed carefully with proper research and satisfactory results.
