Abstract
This project is being proposed to reduce manual process of deseeding the pomegranate fruit. Pomegranate is a commonly used fruit in our day-to-day life. Manual process is a time consuming one for the extraction of seeds. The main objective of the project is to automate the process of deseeding the fruit. It is used for juice making and also used as one of the value-added ingredients in the food products. In the proposed project, the presence of pomegranate in its approximate position is sensed by IR proximity sensor. Continuous rotation of the cup shaped mould (i.e. where the fruit is placed) and mechanical action of the motor is controlled by PIC microcontroller depending on the signal given to PIC from the IR proximity sensor. After complete deseeding of the fruit placed in the cup shaped mould, it is collected by a collecting tray for further purposes.
