Implementation of Antenna Array Configuration with MATLAB

Abstract
This paper work is devoted for the design and simulation of Antenna Array Configuration with MATLAB. An antenna array (or array antenna) is a set of multiple connected antennas which work together as a single antenna, to transmit or receive radio waves. The array also enabled the antenna system to be electronically steered – to receive or transmit information primarily from a particular direction without mechanically moving the structure. As the field of signal processing developed, arrays could be used to receive energy (or information) from a particular direction while rejecting information or nulling out the energy in unwanted directions. Consequently, arrays could be used to mitigate intentional interference (jamming) or unintentional interference (radiation from other sources not meant for the system in question) directed toward the communication system. Further development in signal processing led to the concept of adaptive antenna arrays. These arrays adapted their radiation or reception pattern based on the environment they were operating in. This again significantly contributed to the capacity available in wireless communication systems. With advances in technology, various techniques have been proposed to design antenna array, which offer high beam width, low directivity, increase directivity and gain.
