The Scope of Internet of Things (IoT) for development of tier-2 cities

Abstract
Now a day’s emphasis is on developing Tier – Cities and people wish that the world would be in their hands. It opens a new market for the computing and smart environment. Citizens also want to effectively communicate with non-living objects like air conditioners, refrigerators, other home appliances, furniture, and clothes etc [1-3]. Technologies already exist for interaction among living things but to communicate with non-living things , Internet of Things (IoT) is the more effective and comfortable technology.[7] (IoT) is an ultimate budding technology which is persuading the existing technologies. Basically "Internet of Things" connects “non-living things and living" through “internet". IoT is one of the most interesting topics of research for nowadays. This budding technology has been taken over a widespread area in the field of signals & systems, networking, and sensors etc [5]. Application of IoT is the newest research area that envisions that everything will be connected in the near future to the microcontroller, sensors, actuators through a group of protocols[11]. A lot of work is being done on IoT at tier-1 or metro cities but a very less research and work are done on IoT in tier-2 cities. Tier-2 cities are having its own issues which are related to infrastructure, facilities, and psychology of people. This paper presents the major issues and possibilities of IoT in tier-2 cities.
