Proposed web application with integrity check for deduplication in encrypted data

Abstract


With the deduplication mechanism, an effective system can be raised up. As the amount of data is growing tremendously, it has become quite difficult to handle or arrange the data and also preserving the security of data is the major area of interest. So, in order to preserve the data stored in the server it is essential to upload the data in the encrypted form. However, encrypted data is a challenge for deduplication. In this paper, we have proposed a web application for deduplication mechanism and also a comparison analysis of various hashing techniques and encryption/decryption techniques is done. Integrity checking is also proposed in this article which helps to identify any modification done over the data files. The application of deduplication technique while uploading, downloading and deleting the data is also described. The simulation results demonstrate that this proposed deduplication system is more efficient than the traditional approaches in terms of time, space, security and deduplication ratio.
