Handover System in Mobile Communication System

B. Jayanthy

Abstract

Handover is the process of providing continuous communication when the mobile node (MN) moves from one cell region to another cell region. Handoff or handover transferred the data from one channel to another channel. Both hard handover and soft handover are to transfer the control from source cell to destination cell in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Non-CDMA network.

Keywords: Handover, hand off, soft handover, hard handover, CDMA, cell, base station
