Abstract

In this paper, we have proposed a non-uniform amplitude distribution method to generate difference patterns with low side lobe level of linear arrays for tracking applications. In the literature, most of the work has been attempted on the sum patterns. But, in the radar tracking applications difference patterns has been played very important role. In view of that, intensive investigations are carried out to produce difference patterns with low sidelobes. In this work, we have proposed a new method to control the sidelobe levels and beam width of linear arrays with tapered amplitude distribution. From the results, the difference patterns are generated and also found that first side lobe level is approximately –26 dB.
