Abstract

The very clear objective of this article is to introduce awareness about automation of traditional/conventional techniques of packaging and delivering used in the automation industries. The small models are designed precisely which are then automated individually with the help of Programmable Logic Controller programming. This article defines method to automate the process of placing various materials inside a box, detecting it and counting the items, examination of damaged products and delivery. This process includes design and fabrication of small and simple conveyor belt system and automates the process for packaging. Sensors are used to provide the information to the controller. DC motor is used as output actuator for the system to move conveyor belts after getting the orders from the control system. Siemens PLC S7-200 was used to control and automate the system by ladder logic diagram software. The results obtained show that system is able to decrease production time and increase the productivity, as compared with traditional/conventional manual system.
