Abstract

Internet and its related technologies have opened the new spectrum for the marketers. One of the highest growing segments is business to consumer E-commerce. E-commerce offers enormous opportunities for the marketer to promote products and services. Thought these opportunities come along with notable challenges. To capitalize on the opportunities and to develop the strategies to deal with challenges that are prevailing in e-commerce market online retailers and website developers have to understand the customer's point of view towards the intention of online shopping. It is necessary to understand the factors that drive consumer online shopping intention. In line with this, the paper proposed a conceptual framework for consumer's online shopping intention. The framework used behavioral intention theories to develop a conceptual model that identify factors affecting consumer's online shopping intention for consumer electronic products.

    Dr. Hemantkumar P. Bulsara received his Bachelor of Engineering (Production Engineering) degree from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surat, India and Double MBA (Marketing, Computer Informational System in Management and International Business) from DBIM, VNSGU, Surat, India. He did his FDPM (Faculty Development Program in Management) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A), India and completed his Ph.D. in Management (Techno-innovation to Techno-Entrepreneurship through Technology Business Incubation) from S. V. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surat, India. At present, he is an Associate Professor (Management) and In-Charge: Management section at a very reputed S. V. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surat, India (Institute of National Importance under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India). He was a Head of Applied Mathematics and Humanities Department during 2017 - 2019. He was also a Faculty in-charge of Applied Mathematics and Humanities Department, SVNIT, Surat during July 2018 to October 2018. He has more than 19 years of experience. His areas of research are Technology Innovations and Techno-Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship, Technology Business Incubation, Marketing Management, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, General Management and he is also guiding Ph.D. scholars in those areas (completed 10 PhDs under his supervision – 10 awarded and a few more are ongoing.). He completed one Course development and Pedagogy project (Industrial Management) for Government of India through IIT Kharagpur and one project on Techno-Entrepreneurship. He has more than 75 Research Paper Publications. He has presented / delivered / conducted more than 75 Papers / Expert lectures / Expert sessions including Keynote speeches at National and International level. He is an editorial board member and reviewer of many National and International Journals of repute. He was a Keynote speaker, a conference chair and a Session Chair at National and International level. He traveled to many reputed countries like the USA, UK, France, Netherlands, Italy, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Finland, U.A. E., South Africa, etc.

    Pratiksinh S. Vaghela, Research Scholar, pursuing a Ph.D. from S. V. National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, Gujarat, India. He received a Master’s degree MBA with Marketing specialization and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting and Auditing) from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU). He has qualified UGC – JRF, and NET (Management) in 2013 and GSET (Management) in 2016. He has nine years of academic experience and sound technical knowledge of analytics software like IBM SPSS, AMOS, ADANCO, and IBM Watson Analytics. His areas of research are Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Research Methodology, and Data Analysis. He has published 25 research papers in various national and international journals in the area of Marketing and Consumer Behavior. He has received three best research paper awards in International conference at IIM Indore (2016), Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad (2016) and Parul University, Vadodara (2018).
