Abstract: The Smart Grid of things to come, while expected to influence all territories of the electric power system, from generation, to transmission, to distribution, cannot work without a broad information correspondence framework. Smart Grid can possibly bolster abnormal amounts of Distributed Generation (DG); anyway, the present measures overseeing the interconnection of DG do not permit the usage of a few applications which might be gainful to the framework. This paper talks about a portion of the Smart Grid applications, and assessments the correspondence prerequisites of a medium information serious Smart Grid gadget. Two issues that will turn out to be critical with the spread of DG will be DG Islanding and DG Availability. For each issue, we propose information correspondence empowered arrangements and upgrades.
Keywords: Smart grid, distributed generation (DG), islanding, electric power system, WIMAX (worldwide interoperability for microwave access)
